The #NewChivalryMovement Has Begun

I believe that one of the reasons why blogs regarding romance and chivalry spread like wildfire is because it opens peoples’ eyes to the fact that even in present day, when many people have seemingly forgotten the meanings of these words – that the ideas, and people implementing them, are still alive and well.

Couples being romantic, chivalrous, and respectful towards one another is not something reserved for Disney movies. It is not something reserved for those of an elite class or of special privilege.

It is something for you, for me, for all of us – if only we have the discipline to not settle for less than we deserve.

It is something we can provide to others, if only we are willing to put in the effort.

Eyes are opening, women are tired of disrespectful men, and men are tired of women who only go for the jerks and leave them in the ‘friend zone.’

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can have respect for one another, and we have the power to change the way society, and relationships, work.

The #NewChivalryMovement is a hashtag to be used on social media to represent that you are a man, or woman, who has pledged to care for and respect your significant other and those around you. Also – that you are pledging to not settle for less than you deserve.

If you walk into a Ferrari dealership with $25,000 and try to negotiate the price, you will leave empty handed. This is because Ferrari knows its value and reserves itself for those who ‘can afford it’ or in this case – deserve to be with you. Ferrari knows that there will, eventually, be someone who comes through the doors and to walk the walk.

The car may sit on the showroom floor for longer, but it will eventually go to the right home.

Keep your standards where they belong, don’t negotiate your own value.

Join the #NewChivalryMovement and make your mark on the world, are you in?

  1. Oh my god forever rolling my eyes. Did you really just refer to that imaginary place called the friendzone?! The friendzone is a made-up land by assholes who treat women like slot machines; you put niceness in and sex should come out! This is exactly the misogynist shit that should not be allowed on the internet.

  2. James,
I have been in the friend zone in the past. I have founds as I get older that the girls that put me there are the ones that have missed out. Women have looked at me funny in the past but the ones that recognize my style call me old fashioned.

  3. Exactly! Respect works both ways, and chivalry needs to make a big come back especially with today’s society! Nice work James!

  4. Respect, as LIsa said, definitely goes both ways. I for one appreciate nice gentlemen. Acts of chivalry are possibly some of the most attractive things men can do. If a man doesn’t treat me well, he’s not worth my time.
