Dear…Me,

Welcome to high school. There will be some good times, and some not so good times. Just remember though, it’s only for 4 years, and things get a lot better after that.

It’s okay that you’re too nice, and girls only want to be your friend. When you get older, these qualities will be respected, and even desired by women. You will make up for lost time in, and after college. Keep being nice, don’t let them change you.

You win in the end.

Don’t worry about the jocks and the bullies, this is the coolest they’ll ever be. Your reward for dealing with them is extra strength to get you through life. Their reward will be a beer belly and a few kids they can’t afford by the time that they’re 20. You can visit them in the same bar they’re at now when you visit home again in 30 years.

When you look back at Facebook pictures of the ‘cool kids,’ they won’t look so cool.

Don’t worry about those few extra pounds. If you’re smart, you’ll shed it off and develop into the man that you’re meant to be. And with the invention of Facebook, everyone else will watch it happen.

Be nice to the nerds and the geeks. Not only do they possess insight that many will never take the time to hear, but they’ll end up owning businesses that you will probably want to work with.

You might be the only person who takes time to talk to them, and that is priceless.

Be nice to the not so hot girls, too. They will probably blossom after high school. Plus, they are people too, and you might develop a great friendship (or more) with them.

Don’t worry if the ‘popular girls’ don’t like you. A lot of the time, they’re a pain in the ass anyway, and fall into the wrong crowds easily. Don’t get pulled down with them. Be smart, life is a marathon, not a sprint.

You’re right about those kids who make fun of you but will probably end up wandering the streets of the same town through adulthood. Don’t worry about them, either.

Get better grades. You might wish you did.

On second thought, make sure you have enough fun too. Nobody will ask what your high school GPA was when you’re looking for a job.

Be nice to everyone. Go to parties. Don’t worry about fitting in. Be the best version of yourself. Dress well. Work hard. Make friends. Don’t fit into a clique. Be a little crazy. Drive a fast car. Stand up for others who get picked on.

You’ll thank yourself in the long run.

I love this post especially about how the nice, and not so pretty girls are human too however you encouraged men to still put them in the friend zone. Not cool. Those are the women that when they do blossom you’re gonna wish you were there to actually date them. They are totally worth the time and effort. Women are friendzoned and even outright ignored and made to feel invisible way more then men are.
